As we all know that the entrance exam for admission to Engineering and Architecture (including Planning) programmes at the undergraduate level in the country is being conducted by CBSE. For this purpose, CBSE has been decided to constitute a Central Counselling Board (CCB) in public interest to organize centralized counselling and allocation of seats for filling up seats on All India Basis through All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE ).
Based on the results of AIEEE, CCB is responsible for allocation of seats to be filled up on All India Basis in participating Central/Deemed Universities/Institutions in participating States/UTs in various categories against All India quota. For this purpose, the CCB ensure compilation and wide dissemination of information relating to institution highlighting peculiar learning environment in the institutions, wherever applicable. CCB would be specifically responsible for :
(a) Finalisation of counselling procedure and schedule.
(b) Finalisation of counselling centres and making necessary arrangements at the counselling centres.
(c) Printing of brochure-cum-option form.
(d) Creation and maintenance of web site.
(e) Fixation of counselling fee and deposits, if any;
(f) Distribution and collection of option forms.
(g) Laying down procedure for verification of certificates and credentials;
(h) Coordination with concerned agencies counselling against State/UT quota of seats and
(i) Any other Tasks related to counselling and allocation of seats against All India Quota
For the purposes above, CCB shall meet as often as required. The Board shall hold its extended meeting with all or some of the participating institutions to facilitate close interaction and coordination. All participating institutions shall provide to the Board necessary assistance as may be required by it. On matter of policy the Board shall abide by the direction of the Central Government, if any.
The Secretariat of the CCB is located at Delhi College of Engineering, Bawana Road, Delhi and shall be maintained from funds to be provided by CBSE out of the fees collected by AIEEE. For smooth functioning of CCB, Delhi College of Engineering is providing to its Secretariat such logistics, infrastructure and manpower support as may be required by it.
